So dynamaso and I had our nephew and his friend as house guests for the past few days. (gotta figure out how to link to his blog)

Anyhoo - two 14-year-old boys in the house of a childless-by-choice couple could have been a little scary, but I'm pleased to report we had a ball. No doubt you'll get photos from Mark, but I thought I'd just give my perspective.

Mitchell brought along his friend Steve and both boys spent large parts of the weekend showing the other adolescent in the house (my husband) the latest Playstation moves. We also saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and went to the zoo and shopped and then when I worked they all walked around Sydney's scenic Rocks area. Both boys were polite and did what they were told, when they were told. They bought us presents, ate what was put in front of them (mostly) and in general were no trouble at all.

Looking forward to repeating the exercise with the other 9 nephews and nieces!

Congrats on not only surviving with the kids but thriving. I'm sure that it was a blast!

PS If you want to link to other articles, the easy was to do it is to put a open bracket (the little triangle ones where comma and period are), then put "a href=(put the URL for the article here", close the brackets, put some word or phrase to identify the link, and then follow it up with another set of the same brackets, these ones containing "/a". Not too tough, but a little confusing, I know.

11 Nephews and nieces?  I think your family has done their duty for god and Country.

Hey San!
Thanks for the hint, I know I can do it using the "link" button too. Used to be a web-thingy but have recently forgotten all my HTML!

DrGuy,

It's actually 10 of them total (Mitch brought his friend to stay) but yes I agree, and the two of us feel no concern about being childless-by-choice. My sister in law has 2 boys/1 girl - my bro-in-law has 2 girls/1 boy - and the other 2 have girl/boy girl/boy - so all the sexes' replacements have been done! Mind you our Treasurer is now encouraging us to have one extra "for the country" but I say stuff him, we're living beyond our means as it is.

Gawd, are you a glutton for punishment? Lets hope we don't have them all at the same time. LYG...
